Abbey Volleyball

We have just re-done our club website :- http://www.abbeyvolleyball.co.uk - this includes all the results and reports for the winter season.
We are also looking for new women players for the forthcoming summer and winter 06 season. Our ladies team only play in the Northants league therefore anyone living in Milton Keynes or the surrounding north easterly area would have very little travelling to do. A small but dedicated squad are in desperate need of 2/3 players to strengthen. Anyone interested can contact the club at info@abbeyvolleyball.co.uk

Thanks, Richard Billington info@abbeyvolleyball.co.uk

Hi, my name is Marta, and I have 18. I’m from Poland, but I live in UK more than 8 months and learn in college. My passion was and still is volleyball. I played by 4 years at school team but when I came here I stopped. I live in Norwich, and my problem is that I can’t find any place where I could play Volleyball, which is near or in Norwich. Could you please give me some contacts to some Volley clubs in Norwich if you know some?

Cup Finals Ticket Scorcher!

The Prosport National Volleyball Cup Finals 2006 are just two weeks away and teams are raring to go as tickets are flying out fast. With a competitive season at a close, those teams who have battled it out to the finals are all set to earn their titles this year at the EIS on the 22nd and 23rd April.

“Sheffield welcomes us back for our National finals after 4 years” says Richard Callicott, English Volleyball Association President, and with the atmosphere at the first round of the World Championships last January at the EIS being “a full house for the key matches…electric!”, the National Cup Finals look to be equally triumphant.

With tickets being bought online, sales this year have proved fast and furious, so those 600 spaces are filling up quickly!

Please don’t miss out on your tickets, hit the link on the home page to buy your tickets online or call 01509 631699.

BUSA VOLLEYBALL

The 38th British Universities Volleyball Championships, supported by Prosport International, were held at Loughborough University on 10-12 March 2006. 174 teams started the journey in October and, after 472 matches, the top eight men's and women's came through to the Championship Finals, joined by the four semi finalists in the men’s and women’s Trophy.

BUSA Finals weekend was augmented by the hosting of the four English Volleyball Association National Cup semi finals, and two EVA Shield semi finals. A veritable feast of volleyball! A very open Championship was forecast with three or four men’s team in real contention, and maybe six women’s teams capable of winning the title.
