In the previous twenty two years of the Jersey Open, home success for the Jersey Island teams, had been something of a rarity, however the women won for the first time last year and this year they were looking at a possible double, with both the Men and the Women making their way to their respective finals.

The Jersey Men were favourites the year, having been boosted by the addition of a number of Eastern European players, they beat St. Malo in the final 2-0, to take the title for the first time. The women were up against Ashcombe, the events most successful side and looking to take the title for a record 12th time. Jersey Women were unable to hold on to their title, losing 2-0 to Ashcombe.
