City of Wolverhampton and University of Birmingham

We are delighted to announce that City of Wolverhampton and University of Birmingham Volleyball Club have agreed to merge and develop volleyball in their respective cities together and ensure Division One volleyball for aspiring local young players for the future.

City of Wolverhampton have enjoyed competitive success in recent years, winning both the League and KO Cup two years ago, and finishing league runners up in the 2007-2008 season. University of Birmingham VC has achieved notable successes in the last year: runner-up at the CCPR award, achieving Volley 3 accreditation and securing funds to develop junior volleyball.

The University club offers volleyball at all the standards, from recreational to Local and National League. Despite the origins, half of the club members are community players, whose number has been rising year by year.

Sally Jones is looking forward to start the new challenge and especially she wants to repeat the past successes. The international coaching staff are looking to recruit players for the first division women’s team. If you are an experienced player and you want to be part of a big club, you can email at info@buvc.co.uk.
